Trent-Dowell Funeral Home Obituary Listings
Mary Jean Askins, age 89 of Hardinsburg,KY died Saturday, 9-27-2008 at 
Breckinridge Health ECF. She was born in Breckinridge County on 6-6-1919, the 
daughter of the late Warren and Mary Francis Kennedy Bruington. She was a 
homemaker, who enjoyed quilting and embroidering. While at the Extended Care 
Facility, she enjoyed playing bingo. She was a member of St. Romuald Catholic 
Church and former member of the Altar Society.
 
Jean was preceded in death by her husband Fred 4-6-1985 and 6 brothers and 1 
sister.
 
She is survived by 3 children: Kaye (Robert) Moore of Louisville,KY
Janie (Gerald) Maysey of Hardinsburg,KY
Rick Askins of Hardinsburg,KY
3 grandchildren
1 step granddaughter
4 great grandchildren
1 brother: Chester Bruington - Hardinsburg,KY
2 sisters: Frances Bruington of Hardinsburg,KY
Betsy Blomberg of Valley Station,KY
 
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, 9-30-2008 at 11AM at St. Romuald 
Catholic Church with Fr. Tony Bickett officiating. Burial will be in the St. 
Mary of the Woods Cemetery. Visitation on Monday at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home 
from 4-8PM and after 8:30AM Tuesday. Memorial contributions are requested to: 
Breckinridge Memorial Hospital ECF or St. Romuald School Building Fund.
