Oval “Edward” Basham, 82, formerly of Lodiburg, KY, 
died Sunday July 19, 2014 at the VA Hospital in 
Louisville, KY.

He was born July 12, 1933 to the late Everett & Pearly 
Mae Shoemaker Basham. He was preceded in death by his 
first wife Dorothy Cook Basham; two brothers Dorsey 
Coomer, & Earnest Basham. He is survived by his wife 
Mary Jo Johnson Basham of Corydon, IN, ; four children 
Stanley (Faye) Basham of Sonora, KY, Carl (Patsy) Basham 
of Lodiburg, KY, Bruce (Tina) Basham of Irvington, 
Darlene (JR) Hammack of Bloomington, IN; five step-children 
Barbara (David) Gauntlett of Oregon, Sue Eshelman of 
Corydon, Shawn (Lisa) Moser of Ekron, Virginlene (Lawrence) 
Weatherly, & Virgil (April) Riggs, JR, of Central; four 
grandchildren, 14 step-grandchildren, & 11 step-great-
grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held Friday July 24, 2015 at 1 PM 
EDT at Alexander Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Walnut 
Grove Cemetery in Lodiburg.

Visitation will be Wednesday July 22, 2015 from 6 to 9 PM 
EDT and from 10 AM to 9 PM EDT on Thursday, and After 9 AM 
EDT on Friday at the funeral home.
