OBITUARY
     Owen BATES of Louisville, Ky (Jefferson County), died at age 81.
Graveside services were held on Sunday, May 9, 1970 at the Cloverport Cemetery 
with the Owens Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
     Mr. BATES was born in Breckinridge County, and died at his home in 
Louisville, Ky on Wednesday, May 6, 1970, following a brief illness.  Mr. 
BATES lived in Louisville for many years.  He is survived by:
one brother:
B. F. BATES of Louisville, Ky
one sister:
Mrs. Sudie JOLLY of Louisville, Ky
He was a brother of the late Mrs. Henry (Docie) BURDEN of Cloverport, Ky and 
an uncle of James O. BURDEN of Cloverport, Ky.
