Page 6, OBITUARY
     Elmina Franklin (TAUL) BATES, 5th child of Joseph L. and Emma Jane (BRICKEY) 
TAUL, was born December 13, 1875 in Breckinridge County, and died at her home in 
the same county on December 22, 1928 at the age of 53 years and 9 days.
     At the age of 16, she was baptized and joined the Tar Fork Christian Church.  
In December 1896 she married to Benjamin H. BATES, who survives, and with their 
union was blessed with three sons:
Ernie Algernon BATES
Levi Morton BATES
John Kincheloe BATES, all of whom live to mourn a mother's loss.
Mrs. BATES is also survived by:
her mother, Mrs. Emma Jane TAUL, nearly 84 years of age
five brothers:
Benjamin M. TAUL
Gabriel N. TAUL
Eli M. TAUL
John M. TAUL
Sidney C. TAUL
three sisters:
Mrs. Susan Maxie PERKINS
Miss Clara Lucetta TAUL
Mrs. Melvina Burton ALDRIDGE
4 grandchildren:
Charles Benjamin BATES
Willard Kenneth BATES
Ernie BATES, Jr.
Mary Elmina BATES
23 nieces and nephews, besides numerous more distant relatives by blood & 
marriage, as well as by a circle of friends.

(PLEASE NOTE: Elmina's mother, Mrs. Emma Jane BRICKEY TAUL dies on January 18, 
1929.  I will list information on Elmina's brothers and sisters with her mother's
