DEATH NOTICE
Page 1, INSTANTLY KILLED --WILLIAM BATTS FELL FROM A CAR AT BASKETT -- WAS NOT 
SEEN UNTIL FOUND DEAD ON THE TRACKS --
     William BATTS, a breakman on the Henderson Route, living at 1218 13th Street, 
Louisville, Ky (Jefferson County), was run over and instantly killed Monday night, 
February 6, 1899, at 8:00 p.m. by freight train number 61 at the Baskett Coal 
Mines, (in Henderson County, Ky), seven miles east of Henderson, Ky.  The train 
was a local freight, and was west-bound.  Mr. BATTS was 25 years of age, and 
having a young wife and child.
