OBITUARY

     Melvin H. BENNETT, age 72, of Route 1, Irvington, Ky in Breckinridge 
County, died on Wednesday, February 7, 1990 at Breckinridge Memorial Hospital, 
Hardinsburg, after a lengthy illness.  He was born in Breckinridge County on 
May 12, 1917, a son of the late Oather and Shellie REED BENNETT.  He was a 
self-employed cabinet maker and furniture refinisher, a member of the Custer 
United Methodist Church, and past master of Custer Masonic Lodge No. 624, 
F&AM.
He is survived by:
his wife, Mrs. Anna B. BENNETT
one daughter
one son
5 grandchildren and one great hrandson
      The funeral was held on Friday, February 9, 1990 at Trent-Dowell Funeral 
Home, Hardinsburg.  Burial was in the Hensley Cemetery near Garfield.
