Bennett. he resided at home with his parents until the age of 24 which time he was united in marriage to Amelia Meyer of Buras, Ky., on Oct. 14, 1885. Living near Buras for a short while until the death of his mother, at which time he, with his family returned to the home of his father and lived there. To this union were born eight children seven boys and one girl: Daniel M., Ernest, Louis W., Mary E., Henry, Lawrence, Herbert H. and John M. Bennett. Two of these have gone to their reward. The other children with the widow mourn their loss. He was highly esteemed and loved by those who knew him. He at all times had the interest of his community and country at heart. He had been a staunch believer and doer of the Christian religion for the past 20 or 25 years, while not active in local church work he at all times was interested and his faith leaned toward the church of God. Mr. Bennett led a very active physical life and was strong in body until 3 months ago, at which time he was stricken with an ailment with which physicians were unable to cope. He suffered almost unbearable pain during most of three month's illness which terminated in his death at 9:20 o'clock on the evening of June 3, 1926. Funeral services were held at the home Saturday and conducted at the cemetery by Rev. J. T. Mitcham. The pall bearers were his five sons and his son-in-law.
