Robert Joseph “Bobby Joe” Bishop, 66, of Brandenburg, KY, 
passed away Sunday, September 27, 2015, at Brandenburg 
Health and Rehab in Brandenburg.

He was born October 8, 1948 in Hardinsburg, KY, the son 
of the late Elliott and Margaret Wardrip Bishop and 
preceded in death by three sisters: Lucille Lyons, 
Janie Compton, and Barbara Miller.

Bobby Joe was a member of the Salem Baptist Church, 
spent many hours listening to his radio and thoroughly 
enjoyed hearing about everything that was happening on 
his scanner. He will be missed by his roommate, 
caretakers, friends, and family.

He is survived by six sisters: Eltie Ferry and Darlene 
Dowell of Brandenburg, Lorene Compton of Hardinsburg, KY, 
Annie Stephenson of Shepherdsville, KY, Bessie Cravens 
of Owensboro, KY, and Doris Jean McVicar of Indiana; 
three brothers: Bill Bishop of Harned, KY, Donnie Bishop 
of Irvington, KY, and Kenny Bishop of Ekron, KY.

Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon on Wednesday, 
September 30, 2015 , from the Chapel of the Alexander 
Funeral Home in Irvington, KY, with Bro. Billy Compton 
officiating. Burial will follow in Salem Baptist Church 
Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 until 9 P.M. E.D.T. Tuesday and 
after 8 A.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.
