Breckinridge County News; 1/--/1883
George Blanford died in Bewleyville on Saturday, the 23rd.  Was born Feb. 11, 1806
in Prince George Co., Md.  His mother was the daughter of Major Smallwood who
commanded a regiment of Marylanders at the battle of Long Island.  In 1816 his
father with some 30 other families, moved to Ky.  They settled in Nelson Co. on
Cox's Creek where he spent his boyhood.

Moved to Breckenridge Co. in 1828 near Webster and later moved to Hardinsburg. 
Married Miss Jane Mellvaine whole at Hardinsburg.  They had 9 children, all of whom
are still living.  Member of Methodist Church at Bewleyville.  Burial in family
cemetery on the farm of his son near Bewleyville, beside his wife.
