George Blanford, 86, of Hardinsburg died August 28, 2013 at
his residence.
George was born October 4, 1926 in Irvington, KY, to the late
George Overton & Florence Roberta Foote Blanford.
George was an Army veteran on World War II, a mason of
the Bewleyville Lodge, & was retired from Texas Gas after 37
years.
He was preceded in death by a son Robert “Bobby” Blanford;
two sisters Florence Elizabeth Blanford & Olivia Anne Hoover;
& one brother Edwin Stuart Blanford.
He is survived by his wife 
six children
a nephew David Hoover; two nieces 
13 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, & 2 great great-
grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday Aug. 31 at 2 PM EDT
at Alexander Funeral Home in Irvington.
Burial will follow in Blanford Cemetery
Visitation will be Friday Aug. 30 from 5 to 9 PM EDT, & after
8 AM EDT on Saturday at the funeral home
A Masonic service will be held Friday Aug. 30 at 7 PM EDT at
the funeral home
