Officials said BROWN, who was with a group at Hidden Valley Campsite, drowned while attempting to aid a girl who had called for help after swimming to a buoy in the lake. She was later rescued by a passing boat. The accidental drowning occurred about 10:30 a.m. on Friday, May 27, 1977, according to the Breckinridge County Coroner, J. H. Trent. The body was recovered about 10:05 a.m. yesterday by the Edmonson County Rescue Squad. Mr. BROWN is survived by: his wife, Mrs. Elverta POOLE BROWN two daughters: Mrs. Barbara LUCAS of Harned, Ky Mrs. Bonnie DRANE of SeRee, Ky one son: Artie Bruce BROWN of SeRee, Ky two sisters: Mrs. Virgil COMPTON of Garfield, Ky Mrs. Lonnie COMPTON of Hardinsburg, Ky 8 grandchildren The funeral will be at 2 p.m. tomorrow at the Fairview United Methodist Church. The body will be at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home in Hardinsburg after 5 p.m. today.
