Mrs. Jane Hensley McGlothlan, age 80, of Knoxville, TN, died suddenly December 
9, 2001 at her home in the Karns Community.  Mrs. McGlothlan served in the 
Marines for three yers during World War II, one of her duties being to escort 
Eleanor Roosevelt for several days during a tour of her base.  She also worked 
in a nuclear plant at Oak Ridge during the war, and after, for a total of 22 
years, served her community as a working volunteer school nurse, a Girl Scout 
leader, and a fund raiser.

Surviving are her husbnad of 50 years, Clarence McGlothlan, formerly of 
Irvington; three children, Catherine, Deborah, and Mile; grandchildren, Jason, 
April, Corey, Candice and Kevin, and great-grandchildren, Jacob, Brandon and 
Ryan.

Internment was in Cedar Hill Cemetery with Alexander Funeral Home, Irvington, 
in charge of local arrangements.
