Paul Bernell Brumfield, 79, of Goshen, KY, 
passed away on Thursday, May 25, 2017 surrounded 
by his family. 

He was born March 1, 1938 in Stephensport, KY. 
He was preceded in death by his parents, 
Paul E. and Lois (Fife) Brumfield. He is survived 
by his wife of 56 years, Linda (Butler) Brumfield, 
daughters Tammy Brumfield Godwin, and Debbie 
(Gary) Gibbs, brother Banyon (Gloria) Brumfield, 
and three grand-children, Jacob (Alex) Gibbs, 
Duncan Paul Gibbs and Hadley Taylor Gibbs.

Paul enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1956, and 
spent his four years of service in Little Rock, 
Arkansas and Elmendorf Air Force Base, Alaska. He 
was honorably discharged in 1960. He spent 20+ 
years as an employee of Brown & Williamson Tobacco 
Corp. He then changed careers, moving to First Federal 
Savings Bank of Brandenburg, from which he retired 
in 2003. He enjoyed spending time with his family, 
attending his grandchildren’s sporting events, 
puttering with his tractor, reading and “betting a 
quarter” with his grandkids.

A celebration of Paul’s life will be held on Saturday, 
May 27 at 1:00 pm edt at Alexander Funeral Home, 509 
Spring St, Irvington, KY 40146. Visitation will begin 
at 10:00 am edt. Donations in lieu of flowers may be 
directed to the WHAS Crusade for Children.
