Mr. Bruner was born November 4, 1920 in Breckinridge County, the son of the late Richard Bruner and Nellie Adkisson. He had been employed at Fountain Ferry park in Louisville for 17 years, retired from LG&E, was a World War II Army veteran where he received the Bronze Star, and was a Kentucky Colonel. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Verna Mae Bruner; five daughters, Sherry Meredith, Custer, Janet Clairmore, Guston, Alice Keesee, Hudson, Gale Pollock, Garrett, Jean Abernathy, Elk City, OK; three sons, Dale Bruner, Guston, Ronnie Bruner, Big Spring, Larry Bruner, Brandenburg; a sister, Ruth Robbins, Garfield; 22 grandchildren, and 32 great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 2pm. Tuesday, December 18, from the chapel of Alexander Funeral Home, Irvington with burial in Cedar HIll Cemetery.
