We republish from the Courier-Journal the obituary of Miss Amie Burks, written by Mrs. Tevie, of Science Hill Academy, in whose school Miss Burks received her education. She was a very highly accomplished young lady, the center of attraction in any gathering or community in which she moved, and was universally beloved and admired by all who knew her. She died a happy Christian death, meeting the grim monster with all the composure of a Christian soldier. BURKS-- At the residence of her parents, in Breckinridge county Ky., Friday, Sept. 27, 1878, Amie, oldest daughter of John and Eliza Burks, formerly of Louisville, Ky, aged 23.
