At 4:00 yesterday, Sheriff V.B. BURTON's condition was critical.

Page 1, Death Notice
     The death of Mr. V.B. BURTON, which occurred at the Hardinsburg Hotel 
last Tuesday night, February 13, 1900.  Illness of about 3 weeks.  He was the 
Sheriff of Breckinridge County, and a Republican.
     Burial took place at the old family burial grounds near Balltown last 
Thursday evening.  He leaves an estate of about $20,000.00 -- all of which 
will go to his mother.
     Mr. F.P. PAYNE of Cloverport was appointed Sheriff to fill out the 
unexpired term of V.B. BURTON.

The estate of Mr. V.B. BURTON is valued at $15,000.00, and an insurance policy 
worth $3,500.00.
