OBITUARY

L. D. BUTLER DIES
     L. D. BUTLER was born July 26, 1908, departed this life February 14, 1943 at 
the age of 34 years, 6 months, and 18 days.  He is survived by:
his father:
Mr. Claud BUTLER
his mother:
Mrs. Betty BUTLER
a sister:
Eva Mae BUTLER
one niece:
Joe Anna BUTLER
four uncles
eight aunts
one great uncle:
"Uncle" Ben BUTLER, who is a member of the family
     He professed faith in Christ at an early age, and united with the Cumberland 
Presbyterian Church at Ephuses where he was elected to the Eldership in the Ephuses

Church Session, later moving his membership to the Garfield Cumberland Presbyterian

Church, he was elected to the Eldership in this church.  His years of wise council 
and Christian Spirit always shown with the Board of Elders, in the business matters

of the church, will long be remembered by both the Session and the church.
     In his departure, the church and community has lost on of its fine young men 
whose Christian life before the people has been one very commendable for any person.
 
His relatives and friends are conscious of their loss by his passing, but our loss 
is his eternal gain.  The Supreme Father hath called him and He "shall be missed, 
because his seat will be empty," in the home church.
     Services were conducted at the Garfield Cumberland Presbyterian Church by his 
pastor, the Reverend A. B. Hiser.  Burial in the Hensley Cemetery Tuesday afternoon.
