OBITUARY

     John CALISI, age 78, of the Lodiburg, Ky Community in Breckinridge County, 
died at his residence on Thursday, August 27, 1981 at 8:42 a.m., after a short 
illness.  He was born in Ponza, Italy on September 9, 1902.  He was a retired 
farmer.
He is survived by:
his wife, Mrs. Clara PALETTA CALISI
five daughters:
Mrs. Adaline CHAPMAN of New Albany, Indiana
Mrs. Mary ROBERTS of Lodiburg, Ky
Mrs. Janet SMITH of Lodiburg, Ky
Mrs. Rosa Lee COX of Guston, Ky
Mrs. Jo Ann SMITH of Guston, Ky
two sons:
Michael CALISI of Lodiburg, Ky
Sam CALISI of Lodiburg, Ky
Also surviving are:
two brothers:
Jimmy CALISI of Denwood, West Virginia
Carmine CALISI of Italy
17 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren
     Funeral services were held from the chapel of the Alexander Funeral Home, 
Irvington, on Saturday, August 29, 1981.  Burial was in the Dry Valley 
Cemetery.

1940 census of Union Star, Breckinridge County, listed him as
a Naturalized citizen.  Believe his wife, Clara, was also considered
as a Naturalized citizen, when her husband became a citizen.
