OBITUARY  (I found on the Find-A-Grave website on Ancestry.com)

     Harrison CARMAN died at the home of James Kance WARDRIP on June 19, 1928 
from infirmities due to old age.  He was 86 years old, and was born and raised 
in Breckinridge County.  He was affectionately known as "Uncle Harrison".  He 
was survived by:
his widow, Alta VANDERFRAFT
8 children:
Mrs. James Kance WARDRIP (Lucy Mae)
Mrs. Arthur LASLIE (Mary)
Lula Mae
Florence CARMAN (Miss Anna Florence CARMAN)
Sam CARMAN
Lee CARMAN
Boss CARMAN (Boss Russell CARMAN)
All seven children above, live in Breckinridge County, Ky
William CARMAN (William H. CARMAN) of Vincennes, Indiana (Knox County)
     Mr. CARMAN had been a member of the New Bethel Baptist Church for five 
years.  He is buried at the New Bethel Cemetery.

Harrison CARMAN has a tombstone.

CARMAN, Harrison  1850 -- 19 Jun 1928  husband of Sarah "Sally" & Alta
(his death certificate lists born: 1841; 1900 census lists born: Jan 1842)
his parents are unknown

Harrison CARMAN married #1 to Sarah A. "Sally/Sallie" LASLIE in Breckinridge County,
Ky 
on June 6, 1869.  They had three children listed on the 1880 census of Breckinridge

County. Namely: John W. CARMAN age 10; Lucy Mae CARMAN age 4 ; William H. CARMAN age

unknown when Sallie LASLIE CARMAN passed away or where buried.

Harrison CARMAN married #2 to Alta VANDERGRAFT in Breckinridge County, Ky on 13 
September, 1883.  1900 census gives her birth date as: March 1863.  Her death 
certificate gives born: December 1863.  Alta is not buried with Harrison, but at the

Union Star Cemetery, located in Union Star, in Breckinridge County.  Alta has no 
tombstone.
CARMAN, Alta  00 Mar/Dec 1863 -- 31 Aug 1942  2nd wife of Harrison
daughter of Sam VANDERGRAFT & Caroline KELM

I do not know when Harrison's oldest child, John W. CARMAN passed away.  It was
before 
June 1928, as he was not listed as a survivor in father's obituary.

Harrison & Alta's son, Sam CARMAN married Lucy ________.

Harrison & Alta's daughter, Anna Florence CARMAN never married
