Obituary

Mrs. Nartie HORSLEY CARMAN, age 79, died on Sunday March 6, 1960 in 
Hardinsburg, Ky.  Nartie was born in Breckinridge County, Ky.
Surviving are:
two daughters:
Mrs. Paul SMITH, Campbellsburg, Ky.
Mrs. Ralph CONKWRIGHT, Harned, Ky.
one son:
Carlie CARMAN, Hardinsburg
Her husband, Roscoe CARMAN and four of their children preceded her in death.

The funeral was held at the Westview Church on Tuesday, March 8, 1960, and the 
burial in the ALEXANDER Cemetery.  Dowell Funeral Home in Hardinsburg was in 
charge of arrangments.

Mrs. CARMAN was born in August 1880 near Fairfield, Ky.  On October 29, 1902 
she married Roscoe CARMAN, who preceded her in death by 26 years.  She has 9 
living grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.  She was the last of a family 
of 6, four brothers and one sister, having gone before her. 

Additional Comments:
Roscoe CARMAN and Nartie HORSLEY married on October 29, 1902 in Breckinridge 
County, Ky.  The record of their marriage can be found in Marriage Book # 26, 
page 262.

Roscoe and Nartie have a tombstone.  I found their record in the Breckinride 
County Cemetery Book, Vol. one:
