Mr. Carman was a driver for the Irvington Truck Line, & the Irvington Community Milling Company. He was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local # 181 in Henderson Kentucky. Mr. Carman was also a retired Heavy Equipment Operator for the Cohmann Construction Company, & a life long farmer. He was born October 24, 1927 to the late Burt & Bevie Allen Carman. Mr. Carman was preceded in death by a son Donald Carman; a brother Arthur “Bud” Carman; 2 sisters Ruth Carman Phillips, & Anna Elizabeth Carman Priest. Mr. Carman is survived by his wife Elsie Jewel Carman of Irvington; a daughter Brenda Lucas of Irvington; a daughter-in-law Lesa Carman; & a sister Martha Lou Basham of Bowling Green, KY.Three grandchildren Richard (Sandra) Lucas, Michael (Katie) Lucas & Theresa (Mark) Mansfield; two step- grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren, & 5 step- great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Wednesday May 8, 2013 at 2 PM EDT at Alexander Funeral Home in Irvington. Burial will follow in Raymond Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday May 7, 2013 from 4 to 9 PM EDT & after 8 AM EDT on Wednesday at the funeral home.
