Jewell B. Carter, 82, of Irvington died Thursday 
Dec. 10, 2015 at Jewish Hospital in Louisville.

She was born September 21, 1933 to the late Proctor 
& Mayme Allen. She was preceded in death by her 
husband Richard “Dick” Carter; brothers Elbert, 
Curtis, Joseph “Jay”, Morris, James “Buddy”, George, 
Alton, Alvin; Sisters Mary Lee, Lena Mae, Carrie.

She is survived by her children Eugenia French, 
Roger (Nancy) Carter, Patsy (Carl) Basham, Jerry 
(Lisa) Carter, Richard (Mary Lynn) Carter, Charles 
(Beth) Carter; she is also survived by Virgil (Joyce) 
Allen, Sue Saw, Dorothy (Bob) Hundley, & Jean Gillis; 
nine grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, 
two great great- grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday Dec. 15, 2015 
at 12 Noon EST at Walnut Grove Baptist Church. Burial 
will follow in church cemetery.

Visitation will be Monday Dec. 14, 2015 from 4 to 
9 PM EST and after 8 AM EST at Alexander Funeral Home on Tuesday.

Donations may be given to the Walnut Grove Blacktop Fund.
