Claycomb, of Louisville KY died June 2, 2014. Glover was born August 4, 1923 in Webster, KY, to the late Charles P. Claycomb, Sr. & Pauline Frymire Claycomb. Glover graduated from Irvington High School in 1943, and was proud to have served his country during World War II as a pilot in the Army Air Force. He obtained the rank of Captain and was discharged from active duty February 8, 1946. Glover attended the University of Kentucky and later graduated from Central Radio & TV School in Kansas City, MO. After Working in the radio and television business as a technician, he accepted employment with the Federal Aviation Administration in 1957 as an electronics technician. He retired from the FAA in 1983. Glover was a Methodist by faith, life member of the Air Force Association, member of the American Legion, & a Kentucky Colonel. He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved daughter Karen Elaine Claycomb, & brothers Charles P. Claycomb, Jr. and Lloyd B. Claycomb. Glover is survived by his wife Joanna Allen Claycomb & his children: Bryan L. (Martha) Claycomb, Carole Ann Buskirk, Laura (John) Szafranski, Edmund C. (Rocio) Claycomb, & Thomas R. (Edna) Claycomb. He is also survived by his granddaughters Molly Bee Walker and Margarette Claycomb and grandson Glover Claycomb. His sister Lila Schrenger, & brothers Tom, George, & Danny Survive. In addition, he is survived by three great- grandchildren, 11 step grandchildren, 23 step great- grandchildren, & 7 step great-great grandchildren, & his nephew Amos Claycomb. Visitation will be at Fern Creek Funeral Home Wednesday June 4, 2014 from 2 to 8 PM EDT. Visitation Thursday June 5, 2014 from 9 AM to 11 AM EDT at Alexander Funeral Home in Irvington, KY. Burial will follow in St. George Cemetery in Brandenburg, KY.
