O!, so sweet, could they have lasted. But our Master saw it to take them away, we can't see why, only He doeth all things well and His will be done, not ours. Little James Willard SMOOT, the five month old son of Amon and Etta Mae SMOOT departed this life June 14, 1938; born December 20, 1937. Besides his parents, he leaves: one small sister, Ruby Jane SMOOT a little brother, Clarence Allen SMOOT two grandfathers and a number of aunts and uncles with saddened hearts, who greatly miss the coo and chatter of a dear baby in the home. Shelby Jean COOK, the precious little daughter of Henry and Errie COOK, was born March 27, 1937, and passed away June 14, 1938, age one year, two months, and eighteen days. She leaves: one small sister, Jennie Morrow COOK little brother, George Edward COOK A grandmother and one grandfather, and several aunts and uncles, with heavy hearts, who will miss the little tottering footsteps, the chattering voice and the little vacant chair, our earthly loss is Heaven's gain. The following Wednesday afternoon at the Dry Valley Baptist Church, a double funeral was conducted by the Reverend O. A. Singleton, assisted by the Reverend Joe Claycomb, interment in the church cemetery. The two little fresh made mounds were left covered with flowers placed on them by ten of the Sunshine Girls who were flower bearers: Edna PAYNE, Helena SINGLETON, Dorothy BEAUCHAMP, Dorothy COOK, Alma Jo ROBERTS, Jewel STIFF, Geneva LOGSDON, Gean STIFF, Juanita SINGLETON, and Della McAFEE.
