D. COX of Henderson, Ky (Henderson County), who is the relative of the Breckinridge County COXES, was killed Wednesday afternoon, March 23, 1904 near Hopkinsville, Ky (Christian County), on the Illinois Central Railroad of which he was the foreman for the Cerulean Springs section. While crossing a bridge he was thrown from a construction train, his body striking the stone abutment and plunging into the swollen stream 30 feet below. His body never came to the surface, but was found below the bridge when the river was dragged. Mr. COX was 32 years old, and leaves a wife and three children. Zack COX, of Ekron, Ky (Meade County), was among those who attended the funeral which was held at Corydon, Ky (Henderson County).
