Meade County Messenger
Mildred Dickerson, Irvington, died Sept. 19, 2008, at her residence. She was 
born Oct. 1, 1908, the daughter of the late Melvon and Jenny Adams. 

She was a member of the Garfield Baptist Church for 88 years and served as 
beginner Sunday school teacher for over 25 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Odie Dickerson and a 
sister, Anna B. Bennett. 

Mrs. Dickerson is survived by a daughter, Jo Ann Basham and son-in-law, J.B. 
Basham, who seemed like a son; a granddaughter, Lou Ann Basham, Brentwood, 
Tenn.; and a host of friends and relatives.

Funeral services were held Sept. 22 at Garfield Baptist Church. Burial was in 
Hensley Cemetery.

Alexander Funeral Home handled arrangements.
