OBITUARY

     The Reverend John Edward DOUGLAS, age 80, formerly of Irvington, Ky., in 
Breckinridge County, died on Saturday, July 12, 1986 at the Old Mason's Home 
in Shelbyville, Ky (Shelby County).
     He was born in Louisville, Ky., in Jefferson County on April 23, 1906, a 
son of the late Alfred and Alice WOLFE DOUGLAS. The Reverend DOUGLAS was a 
retired Baptist Minister; a retired school teacher, having taught in 
Breckinridge County for many years; and a member of the Irvington Masonic 
Lodge #868.  He is survived by:
his wife, Mrs Cecil GEDLING DOUGLAS, of the Old Mason's Home, Shelbyville, Ky
one sister: Mrs. Ethel BREMER, Blue Island, Illinois
two adopted brothers
several nieces and nephews
     Funeral services were held on Monday, July 14, 1986 from the chapel of 
the Alexander Funeral Home, Irvington.  Burial was in the Dry Valley Cemetery 
near Lodiburg.
