OBITUARY   Page-8, Column-1
     James Frank DOWELL, age 83, died at his residence in Westview, Ky., 
Breckinridge County, on Friday, March 9, 1979.  He was born on April 7, 1895, a 
son of the late Albert DOWELL and Mary NORTON DOWELL.  He was a retired farmer.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Myrna BALL DOWELL in 1969.
He is survived by:
four daughters:
Mrs. Mildred WILSON of Westview, Ky
Mrs. Virginia JONES of Westview, Ky
Mrs. Dorothy KINCHELOE of Falls of Rough, Ky
Mrs. Rudelle METCALF of Brooks, Ky
three sons:
Howard DOWELL of Garfield, Ky
Robert DOWELL of Irvington, Ky
Russell DOWELL of Louisville, Ky
two sisters:
Mrs. Effie TATE of Cloverport, Ky
Mrs. Lucy ROBINSON of Kingswood, Ky
one brother:
Rufus DOWELL of Towel (should be Tower) Hill, Illinois
17 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren     
     Funeral services were held on Sunday, March 11, 1979 at Freedom Cumberland 
Presbyterian Church, with burial in Freedom Cemetery.  Trent-Dowell Funeral Home, 
Hardinsburg, in charge of arrangements.










Additional Comments:
#0139 Freedom Cumberland Presbyterian Church and Cemetery; Directions: turn north 
immediately west of "Dead Man's Curve" from KY Highway 60.  The church lies east 
of the road, and is blocked from view by a low ridge; in Breckinridge County, Ky.
