OBITUARY

ANGEL OF DEATH -- September 27, 1904
     The angel of death again invaded the home of Mr. and Mrs. Tommie DOWELL, and 
removed from them their only remaining child, Omar Ackley, born April 16, 1903.  
It seems sad indeed that these dear parents are called to give up their last 
little one that had blessed and made happy their home for only 17 months, and 
they had previously given up four little ones.  They had prayed so earnestly that 
the Chastening Rod might be stayed, and this little darling, the light of their 
home, be spared to them.
     Omar was a bright, sweet baby, and to know him was to love him, but it seems 
God's brightest jewels are only loaned to earth long enough for us to learn to 
love them, and to know that of "Such is the Kingdom of Heaven", while their 
hearts are sad and their home is lonely, they have the blessed assurance that all 
is well with Omar that he is "Safe in the Arms of Jesus", freed from his 
suffering, and he is watching and waiting for Papa and Mamma, and the little 
tongue that was just learning to lisp in his sweet baby way, is now singing God's 
praise around the "Great White Thrown".  May God comfort the broken hearts of the 
parents as only he can.

Breckinridge County Cemetery Book, volume 1, published in 1991:
Freedom Cumberland Presbyterian Church.  Turn north immediately west of Dead 
Man's Curve from Highway 60.  The church lies east of the road, and is blocked 
from view by a low ridge.
DOWELL, Omar A.  16 Apr 1903 -- 27 Sep 1904  son of J. T. & Eva
I did not find tombstones for his parents.
