OBITUARY
     William DOWNS, age 77, of Brandenburg, in Meade County, Ky, died 
Saturday, January 16, 1982 at Louisville University Hospital, (Jefferson 
County, Ky) after a lengthy illness.  He was born May 8, 1904 in 
Breckinridge County.  He was the son of the late Elmer DOWNS and Betty 
HENDRICK DOWNS.  He is survived by:
two sisters:
Mabel DOWNS of Brandenburg, Ky
Isabelle DOWNS of Brandenburg, Ky
one brother:
Woodrow DOWNS of Phoenix, Arizona
     The funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, (today) January 
20, 1982 from the chapel of the Trent-Dowell Funeral Home, Hardinsburg, with 
the Reverend Floyd Price, Pastor of the Hardinsburg Baptist Church, 
officiating.  Burial will be in the Miller Cemetery.

Additional Comments:
I did not find a tombstone for Mr. William DOWNS.  I checked both 
Breckinridge County Cemetery Books, published in 1991 & 1997.  He is buried 
at:
#0244 Henry Miller Cemetery #4, also known as Tates Chapel Cemetery, located 
at Hardinsburg, Route #3, off Highway 992, one mile before the Rock Quarry 
across a field on right.  Many unmarked graves.  No longer taking burials.
