OBITUARY      1931-2002
     Mrs. Katherine L. "Lou" CARWILE DUKE, age 71, of Hardinsburg, Ky., died 
Thursday, June 20, 2002 at Breckinridge Memorial Hospital, Hardinsburg.  Mrs. DUKE 
was born February 2, 1931, the daughter of the late James "Gus" CARWILE and Feba 
FLEMING CARWILE.
She was preceded in death by:
her husband, John V. DUKE
a son, Leonard DUKE
a sister, Neoma CARWILE
two brothers:
James M. CARWILE
Charles "Spike" CARWILE

She is survived by:
two daughters
one son
three sisters
one brother
7 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren
3 step grandchildren; 6 step great grandchildren
several nieces and nephews
and a long time family friend
     Services were held Sunday, June 23, 2002 from Hillcrest Baptist Church at 
Kingswood.  Burial was in Freedom Cemetery, directed by Hager Funeral Home in 
Brandenburg, Ky.

Additional Comments:
#0139 Freedom Cumberland Presbyterian Church and Cemetery; Directions: turn north 
immediately west of "Dead Man's Curve" from KY Highway 60.  The church lies east 
of the road, and is blocked from view by a low ridge.  Breckinridge County, Ky.
