OBITUARY
     Vernie Benjamin DUNN, age 75, a resident of Route 2, Brandenburg, Ky in 
Meade County, died at his home on Saturday, June 27, 1970.  Mr. DUNN was 
born in Breckinridge County on July 3, 1894.  He was a son of the late 
George Washington DUNN and Cornelia CARWILE DUNN.
Survivors include:
three daughters:
Fannie DUNN of Brandenburg, Ky
Mrs. Frankie PHILLIPS of Glen Dean, Ky  (Breckinridge County)
Mrs. Lovell PHILLIPS of Brandenburg, Ky
one son:
Vernie DUNN, Jr. of Petersburg, Illinois  (Menard County)
three sisters:
Mrs. Katie CLARK of Hardinsburg, Ky
Mrs. Isabel PERRY of Louisville, Ky  (Jefferson County)
Loula MARTIN of Danville, Ky  (Boyle County)
one brother:
Allie DUNN of Irvington, Ky  (Breckinridge County)
nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren
     The funeral services were held on Tuesday, June 30, 1970 from the 
Jenkins - Sturgeon - Funeral Home of Brandenburg, who were in charge of 
arrangements.  Burial was in the Cap Anderson Cemetery in Brandenburg.

Additional Comments:
I do not have access to Meade County Cemeteries to check if Vernie Benjamin 
DUNN has a tombstone.  There was no wife mentioned as a survivor in his 
obituary.  However, I did find his (1st?) wife and infant daughter, who died 
57 years before Mr. DUNN.  They do not have tombstones.  I found them in 
death certificate searches:
#0171  Hendrick Cemetery, located at Hardinsburg, Route 3, off Highway 992, 
just below the Rock Quarry on Marjorie Tobin's farm.
DUNN, Lillie EDMONSON  00 May 1894 -- 21 Feb 1913  wife of Vernie B.
DUNN, Bessie  16 Feb 1913 -- 19 Feb 1913  daughter of Lillie & Vernie B.
