The funeral was held Monday, October 3, 1904, the interment being at the Catholic Cemetery at Hardinsburg, Ky. Additional Comments: Breckinridge County Cemetery Book, volume 1, published in 1991: St. Romuald Catholic Church Cemetery, located on Highway 259. The cemetery lies between the Parish Church and the northern limits of the city of Hardinsburg, in central Breckinridge County. ELDER, W. Carroll 27 May 1901 -- 02 Oct 1904 son of Annie HIS SISTER AND MOTHER ALSO HERE: ELDER, Mary V. 09 May 1899 -- 27 Dec 1913 daughter of Annie ELDER, Annie L. 1873 -- 1915 wife of Joseph C. According to Breckinridge County Cemetery Book volume 2, published in 1997, the father, Joseph C. ELDER, is also buried here without a tombstone. The Catholic Churches do keep excellent records on their parishoners. I am sure this is where the archivests attained this information. St. Romuald Catholic Church keeps records of all their burials. However, there were no dates for Joseph C. ELDER in the cemetery book. At least we know he is buried by his family.
