Mr. Estes was in his 83rd year, and had been unusually well this fall 'til almost two weeks before his death he suffered from vertigo, fell and fractured his hip. For months he had read the Bible very earnestly, and was often found engaged in fervent prayers. He realized from the first that his days were numbered, and passed away as quietly and peacefully as a child fully satisfied. His daughters, Miss Jennie Estes and Mrs. Tennie Sargent gave him every care and attention always. His remains were interred here last Friday, the services being conducted from the Baptist Church by the Masons. His first wife was Miss Dowdy, an aunt of Mrs. Abe Ditto. His 2nd, a sister of Mrs. J. D. Richardson, both sleeping in our cemetery. Mr. Estes was an honest, kind-hearted man and very industrious, never forgetting old friends and often spoke of many of them here. Sympathy to the bereaved ones. File at: http://files.usgwarchives.net/ky/breckinridge/obits/e/estes5898gob.txt This file has been created by a form at http://www.genrecords.org/kyfiles/
