Mary Agnes Kannapel Flood, age 83 of Hardinsburg,Ky died Tuesday, 2-24-2009 at 
Owensboro Medical Health System. She was born in Breckinridge County on 9-5-
1925, the daughter of the late Ethel and Nora Roach Kannapel. She was a loving 
wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister. She was a wonderful 
cook and everyone loved to eat at "Mamaw's" house and she loved to feed 
everyone. She made beautiful quilts, a craft she learned from her mother. Each 
year she raised a big garden and enjoyed canning and freezing the vegetables. 
She was very devout in her faith, reciting the rosary each night and attending 
Mass on Sunday. Mrs. Flood left a legacy of love reflected by her generous, 
compassionate, selfless and holy life. She worked hard all her life to care 
care of her family, singing in the kitchen as she worked.
 
She was preceded in death by her daughter - Theresa Flood, her brother - Bill 
Kannapel and her sister - Jenny Critchelow.
 
Mrs. Flood is survived by her husband of 61 years - Harold Flood of 
Hardinsburg,KY
10 children: Donnie (Janet) Flood, Gerald Flood, Tony (Kathy) Flood, Vincent 
(Debbie) Flood, Joe Flood, Sharon Herbert and Brenda (Dwight) Wheatley of 
Hardinsburg,KY
Ricky (Vicky) Flood of Radcliff,KY
Phillip Flood of Stephensport,KY
Rosemary (Johnny) Neff of Lewisport,KY
30 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren
1 brotehr - Merl Kannapel of Hardinsburg,KY
3 sisters - Mildred Mattingly and Lillian Henning of Hardinsburg,KY
Helen McHolan of Washington Courthouse,OH
 
Funeral services will be held on Friday, 2-27-2009 at St. Romuald Catholic 
Church with Fr. Tony Bickett officiating. Burial will be in the church 
cemetery. Visitation on Thursday at Trent-Dowell Funeral Home from 4-8PM and 
after 8:30AM Friday. Memorial contributions are requested to: St. Romuald 
Catholic School.
