FOOTE, died Thursday afternoon, October 8, 1903, of partial paralysis at the Old Foote Homestead near Bewleyville (Breckinridge County), Ky. About 3 years ago, Mr. FOOTE suffered a light stroke of paralysis, and since then he has sustained several strokes, the last being about two weeks ago. He gradually sunk after the last stroke, and was not expected to live. Funeral services were conducted on Saturday at 11:00 a.m., October 10, at the Bewleyville Methodist Church by the Reverend W.A. HYNES, the pastor of the church. The Bewleyville Lodge of Masons then took charge of the body, and the interment was in the Irvington Cemetery. His funeral was largely attended. Mr. FOOTE was born in 1831, and was the son of Mr. & Mrs. Edwin FOOTE of Virginia who came to Kentucky, and settled near Bewleyville when he was a young child. His mother died when he was young, and he lived on the old place with his father until he passed away. In 1854 he married a Miss Sue STUART of Breckinridge County, who survives him. Mr. FOOTE was a tobacconist and merchant, but engaged principally in stock raising and farming. He was a staunch Democrat, and took much interest in politics, especially during the middle part of his life. For a number of years he was Magistrate of the Bewleyville District, and once served on the State Board of Equalization. About 3 years ago, he united with the Bewleyville Methodist Episcopal Church South. Besides his wife, Mr. FOOTE is survived by all his children, who are as follows: Edwin FOOTE of Owensboro (Daviess County), Ky. Dr. P.W. FOOTE of Irvington, Ky. Mrs. V.G. BABBAGE of this city (Cloverport), Ky. Mrs. R.V. BOARD of Houston, Texas Mrs. McROSS (Mac ROSS or M.C. ROSS?) of Bewleyville, Ky. Gerard FOOTE of Bewleyville, Ky. Wallace FOOTE of Bewleyville, Ky. His wife, Mrs. L. A. FOOTE is 71 years old. Dr. Virginius FOOTE, who died in Meade County, Ky. about 12 years ago, was his brother. He had a brother, Gerard, who was killed in the Battle of Franklin Tennessee (Civil War?). His only sister was Mrs. John A. ANDERSON, wife of John A. ANDERSON, who was a Republican member of Congress from the State of Kansas. The late Junius B. ALEXANDER, banker of New York City, was his own uncle. His mother's sister lives in Owensboro, Mrs. Beverly WOOLFOLK. Mrs. Phil T. WATKINS, Mrs. Cam RILEY, Dr. Junius WOOLFOLK, all of Owensboro, are his first cousins.
