Postmaster and Rural Route Carrier, died Saturday, August 6, 1960 at St. Joseph Infirmary in Louisville (Jefferson County), Ky. He entered the hospital Saturday afternoon after becoming seriously ill in the morning. Funeral services were held Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. at the Alexander Funeral Home in Irvington, and at 10:00 a.m. at the Guardian Angel Church. Burial was in Cedar Hill Cemetery overlooking the town of Irvington, Ky. (about 30 Honorary Pallbearers). ROOSEVELT on July 1, 1934. He had served as acting postmaster for one year. He served as postmaster until 1945 and after leaving that post, was rural carrier until he retired in 1956. He also owned and operated a farm near Irvington. He was born in Meade County, KY. on March 31, 1896, the son of the late James H. and Sue ELDER FRYMIRE. He attended school at Ekron, and Normal School (now Western State College), at Bowling Green, Ky. He was principal of Ekron Graded School for one year. In1921 he moved to Irvington where he represented an Insurance Company. He was a devout Catholic. From the 1920's until ill health, he took an active part Democratic Politics in the county and state. He was elected Chairman of the Breckinridge County Democratic Executive Committee in 1931. For several years he was a director of Breckinridge County Farm Bureau and also Meade County Rural Electric Coop. He married August 26, 1921 to Miss Jessie MARLOWE of Fordsville (Ohio County), Ky., who survives. Also surviving are their children: two daughters: Mrs. Walter MORRIS, Manhasset, New York Miss Virginia FRYMIRE, Irvington, Ky. one son: Richard L. FRYMIRE, Jr., Madisonville, Ky. 7 grandchildren two sisters: Mrs. Lena FRYMIRE SHUMATE, Ekron (Meade County), Ky. Mrs. Frances REESE, Irvington, Ky. one brother: Lucian FRYMIRE, Delano, California Additional Comments: Richard and his wife, Jessie have a tombstone.
