He was born in Breckinridge County and was a farmer and a member of Macedonia Baptist Church, Pleasant Grove Masonic Lodge No. 803, Royal Arch Chapter No. 20, Scottish Rite of Owensboro, and was a Kentucky Colonel. Survivors include his wife, Vivian Fuqua; two daughters, Vicki Phillips of Washington, D.C., and Patricia Brown of Falls of Rough; a grandson; a brother, James Fuqua of Fairmont, Indiana; five sisters, Lorane Limer of Central City, Sarah Lander of Marion, Indiana, Mary Wells of Glen Dean, Mildred Morris of Hardinsburg, and Pairdine Keller of Gas City, Indiana; and several nieces and nephews. Services were at 2 p.m. Sunday at Harl Funeral Home, Fordsville, with burial in Macedonia Cemetery, Breckinridge County. Masonic services were held at the funeral home.
