According to Harned Fire Chief Jesse Pile, firemen were called to the scene of a free burning fire in Kingswood subdivision just after 6 a.m. Pile said when his men arrived fire was visible, and flames were coming out one window. Firemen were able to contain the fire to one room, however Pile said other portions of the house suffered heat, water, and smoke damage. It was then, Pile continued, "I followed state procedures, and called for an arson investigator and an officer from the state fire marshal's office. I also called for a county law enforcement officer. Breckinridge County Sheriff Bobby Kennedy said, "I got the call about 6:20 a.m., and my job when I arrived at the scene was to keep the peace while everyone did their jobs. We were also trying to make certain there was no foul play". Sheriff Kennedy would not rule out foul play, and said "I haven't heard from the (Kentucky State Police) arson investigator." Breckinridge County Coroner Bob Rhodes, who said he arrived at the scene at about 7 a.m. indicated there would be an autopsy. Official results could take up to 6 weeks, however, Rhodes did say he had ruled at the scene, Glenn's death was caused by smoke inhalation.
