LAY lost her only sister, Mrs. Eastindia GREENWELL, who died after only a few days' illness, and buried February 9, 1899 near Big Spring, Ky. She was 61 years of age. She leaves to mourn her loss 9 children. Three boys by her first marriage: Henry SMITH of Louisville (Jefferson County), Ky. Stephen SMITH of Hardin County, Ky. Zack SMITH of Hardin County, Ky. All of her living children reside near here except one son, Pascal GREENWELL, who is in South Dakota. Two sons: James GREENWELL Elijah GREENWELL and daughters: Florence GREENWELL MORGAN of Big Spring, Ky. Ida GREENWELL Venus GREENWELL Additional Comments: I did not find a tombstone for Mrs. Greenwell in Breckinridge County Cemeteries, volume one, published in 1991. However, Big Spring, Ky. lays within 3 counties, Meade, Hardin, and Breckinridge.
