Jackie Sonte "Whitey" Gribble, age 71, of Elizabethtown, passed away Sunday, 
December 16, 2001 at his home.  He was born July 14, 1930 to Larry and Mary 
Stone Gribble in Sonora.  Mr. Gribble was an Air Force veteran, retired from 
Southern Welding Company where he worked for 32 years, an employee of 
Elizabethtown City Parks and REcreation Department, a Kentucky Colonel, a 50 
year member of the Morrison Masonic Lodge #76 in Elizabethtown United Methodist 
Church.  A half-brother, Charles Gribble, preceded him in death.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Margie Underwood Gribble; a daughter, Robin 
Juckleby of Elizabethtown; a son, Johnny Gribble of Buffalo; four grandsons, 
Jackie Mullens of Harned, James Gribble of Buffalo, Shaun and Matthew Huckleby 
of Elizabethtown; two granddaughters, Melanie Mullens Bruner of Elizabethtown, 
and Jessica Gribble of Buffalo, and a great-granddaughter, Shakayla Kaytlin 
Bruner of Elizabethtown.

The funeral was held Wednesday, December 19, from Dixon-Atwood Funeral Home, 
Elizabethtown, with the Rev. Garland Hawkins officiating.  Burial was in 
Elizabethtown City Cemetery.
