OBITUARY
George E. GRIFFITH, age 74, died on Monday, January 26, 1987, at his Big 
Spring residence.  He was born in Big Spring in Hardin County on September 
23, 1912, a son of the late William Thomas and Ruth KASEY GRIFFITH.  Mr. 
GRIFFITH was a retired farmer, and a former bus driver for the Hardin County 
School System.  Survivors include:
his wife, Mrs. Irene ALLGOOD GRIFFITH
a son: George Baxter GRIFFITH of Louisville, Ky (Jefferson County)
two sisters:
Mrs. Catherine REARDEN of Owensboro, Ky (Daviess County)
Mrs. Howe David JOHNSON of Louisville, Ky
3 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren
     Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. EST on Thursday, January 29, 
1987, at the Nelson-Edelen-Bennett Funeral Home, Vine Grove in Hardin 
County, with the Reverend Clayton R. Young, officiating.  Burial will be in 
the Big Spring Methodist Church Cemetery.

George E. and Irene ALLGOOD GRIFFITH share a double tombstone at the Big 
Springs-Corners United Methodist Church Cemetery, at Big Springs in 
Breckinridge County, Ky.
