He was 54 years of age, and had been afflicted with creeping paralysis for several years. He had a stroke of paralysis about two weeks before he died, which effected his right side and rendered him helpless and his speech was unintelligible. He united with the Walnut Grove Baptist church a few years ago and has been a consistent member and got to be a daily bible reader. he had often wished when the time come for him to die that he could die on the Fourth of July. He was buried on the Fourth in the family burial grounds, a beautiful spot on a knoll, enclosed by cedars. He leaves three sisters, two brothers, and a son to mourn their loss.
