OBITUARY    Page 5
     E. W. (Elmore Walter) "Pappy" Hayes, age 86, of Hardinsburg, died Sunday, 
March 13, 2005 at Breckinridge Memorial Hospital, Hardinsburg.  He was born June 
8, 1918 in Pennsylvania, a son of the late Sotus and Jewel Goodwin Hayes.  He was 
the former owner of NAPA Auto Parts in Hardinsburg, a member of the Hardinsburg 
Baptist Church, a World War II Army veteran, and a Kentucky Colonel.  He was 
preceded in death by his wife, Novera Hayes and a son, Ronald Hayes.
Mr. Hayes is survived by:
two sons
a daughter-in-law
4 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren
     Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 16, 2005 at the Trent-Dowell 
Funeral Home, Hardinsburg.  Burial was in the Kingswood Cemetery.
