He was born in Hardinsburg on September 30, 1923, the son of the late Willis and Mary McCOY HAYNES. Bobby was a former Breckinridge County Sheriff and Deputy, serving in those positions for over 20 years; he worked for the Highway Department, and was a retired Breckinridge County High School bus driver. He proudly served his country as a World War II Navy veteran. Bobby, his wife, and family rode, raised, and trained horses -- this was something they loved rather than being an occupation with many lifelong friends being made. He was a former president of the Breckinridge County Saddle Club, former fair board member, and Grand Marshall of the fair parade. In honor of all the time and help with the Breckinridge County Fair, a building was named and dedicated to Bobby and Doris. When time allowed, they enjoyed square and round dancing. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Harold HAYNES. Bobby is survived by: his wife, Doris BUTLER HAYNES (now deceased) one daughter three sons one sister 6 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter Funeral services will be held at the Trent-Dowell Funeral Home, Hardinsburg on Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. Burial with Military Honors will be in the Freedom Cemetery. Additional Comments: #0139 Freedom Cumberland Presbyterian Church & Cemetery; Directions: Turn north immediately west of "Dead Man's Curve" from Kentucky Highway 60.
