Hardinsburg, July 14, (Special) -- William HENDRICK, Sr., aged 68 years, died at nine o'clock p.m. on the evening of the 13th of July, 1914. Mr. HENDRICK has been suffering severely from a stomach affliction for several weeks past, and had been in bad health for some months. He died where he was born and lived, on his farm 3 miles from Hardinsburg. He was one of our most substantial and prominent farmers, and it is doubtful if any citizen of the county in its entire history, enjoyed more sincerely the high, unfaltering respect of his fellow man than did Mr. HENDRICK. He was an honorable Christian gentleman, charitable to a fault, scruputiously honest in his dealings with all, and he was the highest type of our citizenship. He married Eliza JOLLY, daughter of Nelson JOLLY, fourty-six years ago, and was the father of: Lucetta MILLER, wife of J.W. (John William) MILLER Ressie MILLER, wife of James H. (Huston) MILLER Isabelle DeHAVEN, wife of Miller DeHAVEN John M. HENDRICK Gude HENDRICK (Calvin Gude) Tice HENDRICK Miss Annie N. HENDRICK All of whom survive him, as does his widow. His domestic life was exemplary; his companionship with his wife and family was unceasing from the beginning, and its doubtful if he ever remained overnight away from his wife. He would not go anywhere without her. He was buried at three o'clock on the 14th, and the Reverend James Lewis, now of Fordsville in Ohio County, formerly his pastor, officiated. Interment was had at the Miller graveyard near Hardinsburg. A large concourse of neighbors and friends were present at the funeral.
