OBITUARY       1918-1996
     Dennie H. HOBBS, a 78 year old Rt.1, Hardinsburg resident, died Friday, 
December 13, 1996, at Breckinridge Memorial Hospital, Hardinsburg, after a 
lengthy illness.  Born February 7, 1918 in Breckinridge County, he was a son of 
William Henry HOBBS and Barbara NICHOLSON.  He was a farmer, a member of Breck 
Masonic Lodge #67, Freedom Cumberland Presbyterian Church, a member of Civilian 
Conservation Corps in 1940, attended Clifton Mills Cumberland Presbyterian 
Church.

He was preceded in death by a son, Overton HOBBS in 1955
     Survivors include:
his wife, Dorothy of Hardinsburg, Ky
four daughters
one son
a sister
12 grandchildren
     Funeral services were held December 16, 1996, at Freedom Cumberland 
Presbyterian Church with the burial in Freedom Cemetery near Garfield, with 
Alexander Funeral Home, Irvington, in charge of the arrangements.

Additional Comments:
#0139 Freedom Cumberland Presbyterian Church and Cemetery; Directions: turn north 
immediately west of "Dead Man's Curve" from KY Highway 60.  The church lies east 
of the road, and is blocked from view by a low ridge.  Breckinridge County, Ky.
