This community was surprised on last Monday to learn of the death of Mr. John 
R. Jarboe at his home on the Hardinsburg and Cloverport turnpike.  Mr. Jarboe 
had been sick only a few days with pneumonia.  He was formerly keeper of the 
County Poor House here, and when defeated for re-election last October, he 
bought a farm on the turnpike, where he has resided since.  He leaves a wife
