Obituary

Henry Clay JOLLY, born near Hardinsburg, Ky., on October 2, 1870 and died 
February 15, 1960 in the home of Mr. and Mrs. N. E. FINLEY, 2739 Bardstown 
Road, Louisville, Ky., at the age of 89.  He was married to Ida E. MEADOR on 
July 4, 1897, who passed away 12 years ago.  To this union eight children were 
born, and all survive.  A member of the Hardinsburg Baptist Church.  He was 
reared in Breckinridge County, and taught 44 schools during that time.  He 
held a 'Life Certificate' for his services.  Although he was handicapped by 
partial blindness most of his life, he was a very patient, courageous, out-
standing teacher.

The funeral was held on Wednesday, February 17, 1960 from the Dowell Funeral 
Home, Hardinsburg, Ky., and burial at the JOLLY Cemetery in Breckinridge 
County.

Robert FLOOD

Mrs. Ruby ARMES, Louisville, Ky.
Mrs. N. E. FINLEY, Louisville, Ky.
Willie JOLLY, Louisville, Ky.
two sisters:
Miss Alma JOLLY, Hardinsburg, Ky.
Miss Ollie JOLLY, Hardinsburg, Ky.
34 grandchildren, 56 great grandchildren

Henry and his wife Ida have a tombstone at the JOLLY Cemetery #1.
