OBITUARY
     Mrs. Susan "Sudie" BATES JOLLY, age 89, of Louisville, Ky (Jefferson 
County), died on Sunday, September 1, 1985 at Southwest Humana Hospital in 
Louisville, Ky.
     Mrs. JOLLY was born at Tar Fork in Breckinridge County on January 19, 
1896, a daughter of the late John B. BATES and Ellen KEENAN BATES.  Her 
husband, Harry T. JOLLY, preceded her in death in 1961.  Mrs. JOLLY was a 
long-time resident of McQuady, Ky (Breckinridge County), and was a member of 
the Corinth Baptist Church of McQuady.  Survivors include:
two daughters:
Mrs. Retha KLINGLESMITH
Miss Doris JOLLY
five sons:
Bill JOLLY
Ken JOLLY
Jerry JOLLY
Guy JOLLY
Harry JOLLY....all of Louisville, Ky
20 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren
     Duel funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, September 4, 
1985 at the Owen Funeral Home, Louisville, and at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, 
September 4, 1985 at the Corinth Baptist Church at McQuady with the Reverend 
Mark HOPPER, Pastor of the Fern Creek Baptist Church, and the Reverend John 
MEADOWS, Pastor of the Corinth Baptist Church, officiating.  Burial was in the 
McQuady Cemetery, with the Owen Funeral Home of Louisville, in charge of 
arrangements.

These two sons are on one tombstone:
BATES, Jesse K.   30 Jun 1886 -- 01 Feb 1901  son of John B. & Ellen C.
BATES, Joseph S.  24 Apr 1888 -- 30 Apr 1888  son of John B. & Ellen C.
